Charting My Next Path: Reflections on My Journey and My New Book

As friends, family, and colleagues gathered on Saturday, May 10, to launch my book, “Life’s Next Path,” I felt a sense of accomplishment and relief. This journey has been both educational and challenging. I take pride in having completed this book and in providing information that may be of benefit to others.

At 50, I found myself at the pinnacle of my corporate career, but I knew there was more to explore. I took a leap of faith, pivoting into counselling, coaching, and education. This personal transformation became the heart of “Life’s Next Path,” and I hope it serves as an inspiration for others contemplating their reinvention.

My academic journey, which includes my Ph.D., Diploma in Positive Psychology, and Master of Business Coaching, has equipped me with a unique perspective on life strategies and coaching. In my book, I introduce the Strategic Achievement Framework, a tool I’ve developed to help people redefine success on their terms and move from strength to strength.

I’m deeply grateful for the support I’ve received along the way. My friends from all walks of life, my coaching and learning colleagues, my nieces, and my church community – your presence at the launch meant the world to me. I owe a special thanks to my book coach who guided me through this challenging process, and to my writing buddies who shared this journey with me.

“Life’s Next Path” is not the book I initially set out to write. It evolved as I committed words to paper, shaping and reshaping my ideas. What emerged is a distillation of all my learning, coaching, and life experiences. I see it as my legacy, a practical guide for anyone seeking to navigate life’s next chapter.

In my book, I explore how to turn dissatisfaction into opportunity, overcome fears, find renewed meaning, and gain the clarity and courage to take bold steps. My approach combines proactive planning with adaptability, as I believe this is key to navigating life’s challenges with confidence and purpose.

As I launch “Life’s Next Path,” I’m not just celebrating a personal achievement; I’m inviting all of you to embark on your journey of discovery and reinvention. Remember, life can be well-lived at any age. It’s time to transform “maybe, one day” into “I’m doing things I never thought I could do.”

Thank you all for being part of this moment. I’m genuinely grateful, and I look forward to seeing where life’s next path leads each of you.
